Wedding invitation : white on brown paper with pastel watercolour information cards.
One of my most enjoyable creations for the year so far has been these wedding invitations. Abi and Gary are living in the UK but are getting married in their home country, South Africa at the lovely Imperfect Perfection in Pretoria. Abi plans to have a lovely casual styled wedding with a bit of a garden party theme – bunting, baskets, bales of hay; everything that make for a cosy, personal and light-hearted atmosphere.
I was so excited when Abi mentioned that she liked the white on brown paper look. It’s a trend that I love so was keen to have my own hand at creating it. The white design embossed into the rich textured brown paper, coupled with the pastel colours and watercolour look made for a refreshing invitation design.
The invitation card came with a personalised matching envelope and two double-sided information cards, all custom designed to make a matching set that represents Abi’s style and wedding colours.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.

I created these natural, eco inspired invitations for Mandy who is getting married in July. I came up with a simplified protea design to use as a ‘window’ on the cover. The natural cover paper was laser cut to reveal the gorgeous pastel colours of the protea.
The invitation page was printed on transparent paper to give it a soft, translucent feel. If held up to the light, the colours shine through magnificently. The booklet-type invitation had a kind of seam down the side with a mint green lace to finish it off.
Looking forward to using these colours and the protea motif again for the Mandy’s on-the-day wedding stationery!
